HILL NISSAN

A Reputation Built on Tradition

BY MARIALICE QUINN

Jim Hill and his son, Tim, have built the reputation of Hill Nissan in the past 43 years; not only as an honest dealership, but one that believes in the traditions of family and community. That belief has led to many enduring friendships and generations of customers.

“We’re selling to our third generation of Hill Nissan customers,” said Jim, company President. “Some customers have literally bought 50 to 60 vehicles from us. Mom and Dad will buy several cars in their lifetime; not just their own, but often the first car for their children. When the children start buying their own automobiles, they know that they can trust the Hill name and the Nissan product, so they continue the family tradition of buying at Hill Nissan.”

Hill Nissan, which moved to its 6401 Cypress Gardens Blvd. location in Winter Haven in April 2005, showcases the latest Nissan products in its 24,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility on 6.6 acres. “Hill Nissan offers a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere for both purchasing a vehicle and having your vehicle serviced,” said Jim.

“We offer our customers everything they expect from a big dealership in a larger city with our facility and large inventory,” said Tim, Executive Manager, “but we’re still able to give our customers the best prices and attention to detail they have come to expect from a family-owned dealership in a smaller community.”

Dad and son both agree that it’s great to be a Nissan dealer.

“You just can’t find a better vehicle,” said Tim. “We have a great selection of new vehicles including the Versa, Cube, Sentra, Altima, Altima Hybrid, Altima Coupe, Maxima, X, GT-R, Rogue, Murano, Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada, Frontier and Titan.”

Since Jim came to Winter Haven, the Hill family has been deeply involved in the local community both through business and civic interests.

“We try to give back and support our community as much as possible since it has been so good to us,” said Tim, noting the company lends its support to, and works with, many area schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Guardian ad Litem program, the American Cancer Society and youth basketball leagues. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, Hill Nissan purchases bikes and toys and delivers them to six different Polk County churches.

“Business is like golf,” said Jim. “In golf, the rules are self-enforced. Honesty is the name of the game. That belief transfers into business. When you are honest and treat people right, you will have a customer for life. These are our friends and our neighbors and, really, our family.”
